Selloverse

Privacy Policy

Last updated

Draft notice: the legal name and registered address of the company that operates Selloverse are still to be added to this page.

This policy explains what information Selloverse collects when you use the Selloverse app and the website at web.selloverse.pk, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Selloverse is a marketplace. It connects customers with independent businesses in Pakistan ("vendors"), each of whom has a public card that anyone can open.

1. Who we are

Selloverse is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME — to be confirmed], [REGISTERED ADDRESS — to be confirmed]. In this policy "Selloverse", "we" and "us" mean that operator. For anything about your privacy, write to support@selloverse.pk.

2. Information we collect

From everyone who signs in:

  • Your mobile phone number, which is how you sign in (with a one-time code), and your name.
  • Your email address, if you add one — used for receipts, reminders and account messages.
  • Your location, only if you allow it — to show businesses near you and to give directions.

From vendors, in addition:

  • Business information: business name, category, description, opening hours, phone and WhatsApp numbers, address and map pin, social links, catalogue items and prices, team members, logo, banner, photos and videos.
  • A live business location, which is required to publish a card. Home-based vendors can hide their street address from the public card.
  • Identity verification, if you apply for a verified badge: a photo of your CNIC and a live selfie. These are stored encrypted, can be opened only by the verification review team, and every view is logged.
  • Subscription records: your plan, bank-transfer references and the payment receipts you upload.

When you use the service:

  • Orders, bookings, quotes and custom requests: what was asked for, the delivery details you give, and any reference images.
  • Chat messages between customers and vendors, including photos you send.
  • Reviews, reports and disputes, including the evidence photos attached to them.
  • Device and usage information: device model, operating system, app version, a push-notification token, crash and diagnostic logs, and counts of card visits and QR scans.

We do not collect card or bank-account details for orders. Customers pay vendors directly.

3. Why we use it

  • To run the service: sign you in, publish and show vendor cards, and deliver orders, requests and messages to the right person.
  • To verify vendors and to prevent fraud, fake reviews and abuse.
  • To send you notifications you need — new orders and messages, order updates, review requests and subscription reminders — in the app, by push notification and by email.
  • To give vendors statistics about their own card, such as visits, QR scans and enquiries. These are counts; they do not identify visitors.
  • To handle reports, moderation and disputes, and to keep records the law requires.
  • To understand how the app is used, in aggregate, and to fix problems.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

4. What other people can see

  • A vendor's card is public: anyone with the link, and search engines, can see the business details the vendor chose to publish. Vendors can opt out of the SelloZone directory.
  • When you place an order, booking or request, the vendor receives your name, phone number and the details you entered, so they can fulfil it and contact you.
  • Reviews show the name you gave and your rating and text.
  • Chat messages are seen by you and the vendor (and their team members, if the vendor has added any).

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here.

Service providers that process data for us, under contract and only to provide their service:

  • Hosting and cloud-storage providers, which run our servers and store uploaded photos, videos and documents.
  • SendGrid (Twilio Inc.), which delivers our emails.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google), which delivers push notifications to your phone.
  • Google Maps Platform, which shows maps, finds places and gives directions.
  • Anthropic, only for vendors who switch on the AI assistant: while that vendor is away or closed, the recent messages in a customer’s chat with that vendor, and the business information on their card, are sent to Anthropic so it can draft an automatic reply. Replies written this way are marked as automatic. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms this data is not used to train its models.

We may also disclose information when Pakistani law or a valid order of a court or authority requires it, to protect the safety of a person, or to investigate fraud. If Selloverse is merged or sold, your information may pass to the new operator under this policy.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account and business information: for as long as your account is open.
  • When you delete your account, your profile and card are removed from public view straight away, and your personal information is deleted or anonymised within 30 days.
  • CNIC images and selfies: kept only while they are needed for verification and your account is open, then purged 30 days after the account is deleted — or 90 days if the account was banned or is part of an open dispute, so that fraud and disputes can be resolved.
  • Records we are required by law to keep, such as subscription invoices and payment records, are kept for the period the law requires.
  • Backups are overwritten on their normal cycle.

7. Security

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Identity documents are encrypted at rest and access to them is restricted and logged. Staff access to personal data is limited to what their work needs. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

8. Your choices

  • See and correct your information in the app, under Profile.
  • Turn off location or notifications at any time in your phone's settings.
  • Vendors: hide your address from the card, or opt out of the SelloZone directory, in the app.
  • Ask for a copy of your information, or for something to be corrected or deleted, by writing to support@selloverse.pk.
  • Delete your account (see the next section).

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your account in the app: Profile → Delete account. If you cannot open the app, our account-deletion page at web.selloverse.pk/account-deletion explains how to ask us to do it.

10. Children

Selloverse is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. You must be at least 18 to open a vendor account. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
